I can't believe someone criticized a skin on bs.com because the creator used pictures of middle-aged people, claiming that young people look better. Sure they do, but the whole point of the skin was love (as is the whole point of most skins, I've noticed), and love's for everyone, not just the pretty and young. If it WAS only for the youthful, would we be here today? Surely our parents weren't all in their teens when they had us.

Daughtry's What About Now music video is truly inspirational. I think it's not only a music video, it's also a campaign to fight against poverty and to make a difference in the world. There's one part that says, "I'm an average Joe just trying to make ends meet... Can I make a difference?" It just sums up every one of us. And it's amazing how down-to-earth the video is. It's not just another video of a celebrity in gold dolled up and dancing.

I'm thinking of making a music video for it. I'm determined to get SOTD! ;D LOL. I wish the SOTDs were not limited to just the top scorers, as it seems to be currently, with people like !ferris and detonatedlove. I wish some novice would get SOTD. Then it would give people more hope. Currently on DeviantArt, looking for 'matching pictures'.

I have tentatively decided on christianne. for several reasons:

• it can be interpreted as "christ" and "anne". anne's mother mary's mother, and also my mother's nickname (which I was earlier considering)- and christ, well, is self-explanatory.
• it resembles "christine", which is a name I was earlier considering as well, and "christina"- a saint/martyr who survived many ordeals because of God's miracles. read about st. christine here.

In fact, cross country is worse than soccer. Soccer is suddenly the awesomest thing in the world, man. (Maybe Mr. Vaughan is pulling our leg to get us to appreciate the sport. ;D)

just watched making of les miserables: stage by stage. admittably, I'm a bit disappointed. I expected backstage footage of the tenth anniversary dream cast and maybe the making of the 10th anniversary, because isn't that the cd I bought? but instead I got to find out the history of les miserables, which is interesting, I suppose. also got to see the hungarian cast or smth. they're good but I dislike the thenardiers in that version. there's this eponine who was featured -not sure if hungarian- who's quite good. I'm not sure of her name. it might be linzi.

have decided on anne for my confirmation name :D 99% sure, at least. firstly because it's my mum's like nickname, and secondly because well.. well... anne of green gables (JK) I've always liked the name anne. and grace marie anne sounds ok. NOT like grace marie antoinette. which my mum jokingly suggested initially. also it's kind of like a coincidence that st. anne was the mother of Mother Mary, and my baptism name (marie) was chosen because of Mother Mary (so was grace- ostensibly so that I'd have the grace of Mother Mary or smth, I think). it's a wonder Joaquim isn't part of my name (that's Mother Mary's dad).

I removed the part about joining middle school dance troupe in 'goals', because the ms dance troupe only has auditions once in a school year, and next school year I'll be in high school already anyway. Also, I removed the part about being a better Catholic, because although I still want to be able to be MORE PATIENT and MORE KIND and MORE TOLERANT, those aren't things you can measure. I can't wake up one day, take out a Cathometer and say "Huzzah! I'm a better Catholic!" besides, doing that would be kind of egoistical, and it's better to be humble. I remember last time my parents and I were kidding around and I yelled (in the car :X haha) "I'M PROUD OF MY HUMBLE-ITY!" and all of us laughed. (yes, I know it's humility. humble-ity sounds nicer :).)

Oh man, my legs look like I've got chicken pox, or something. Had a huge scare yesterday as to whether I had dengue, because my legs and right arm SERIOUSLY have red mosquito bites ALL OVER, but my mum reassured me that I didn't have fever and joint aches, so I was fine. I think by the end of it she was kind of irritated because I had a major case of paranoia.

Okay, erm, thanks? lol. and then yongmin was clapping and joanne was singing happily and beaming. and I was like, eh, thanks, but this is SO EMBARRASSING haha. but oh well, it was srsly nice of Mr. Kenney. later pichaporn and helen were like, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME IT WAS YOUR BIRTHDAY??? but it would have been pretty egoistic to go to everyone on MSN and tell them it was my birthday or smth right. ;_;

My birthday was yesterday!

Woke up at. 7 something. I think.

Had a groggy breakfast, and qiong-ed out to ISB for my student-led parent-teacher conference. Turned out we were early by like fifteen minutes, so we hung around and then went to Mr. Huttner's room. Forgot what extrusive rocks were. (Was forgiven, since we aren't done on the rocks part yet.) And my mother thinks I can stretch my brain further in maths. Oh dear.

Then had Spanish. Watched my video, and died of shame, because I looked so weird and made a few mistakes. But my parents were all gushing about how much Spanish I knew. Oh well. I guess since they don't understand Spanish they didn't spot the mistakes, but Senor E did and he said it's OK since I spotted them, which is the whole point, and according to him speaking Spanish is uber hard anyway, esp for a beginner.

seriously, you're being damn obnoxious. you don't get so much stuff, and you come up with the WEIRDEST reasons and explanations for what you do. you keep changing the truth so much, I don't know what to believe anymore- and thus I've decided just not to believe you, at all. you get obsessed over the strangest things, and you just don't understand even the simplest things I try to explain. mr kenney talks a lot.
I must read more non-fiction. and chimmer stuff, other than romances and realistic fiction stuff, aka stuff where girls are social misfits and finally get asked out by popular hot guys.
(read: meg cabot and co.) and I must speak up: more, slower, louder. (ditto for maths, science, and spanish. OOPS. my teachers were all like, "of course, she doesn't have to. maybe it's just her personality." and my mother coughed really loudly. :X LOL)

then we popped in to dr. e's (dr e is so nice! haha yay).

then we met ms baker and exchanged the basic hi how are you ish kinda stuff, and then we went ... home. I think. for lunch.

then I went on the computer.

then we went to centralworld.
meg cabot was supposed to come at 6.00. she came at 6.2oish, had an interview with journalists, and finally turned up for the book signing at 7.00 ish. managed to get my book signed first. AVALON HIGH! it's my fave meg cabot book :D my only deep regret is that I totally forgot to take a head-on pic. so I've only got pics of both of us looking down. and there's one of her looking up at me, but in that pic she kind of looks WTH-ish, in a weird way. LOL. *sniffs sadly* ah well.

then had dinner at limoncello, with dad and mum and uncle and aunt, and got presented with hue bottles of L' Occitane shampoo and conditioner from uncle and aunt :D from dad got a really cool turquoisey dress watch (I wanted this white sporty one with rainbow stripes and they knew it, but they said it was too like my current one and I can't wear it to formal occasions and stuff. oh well). from mum got 2 purses! one wallety one and one cute soft clutch. :D *runs around happily*

today was a mammoth day. am slightly tired :X poofedout. lol. but got new running shoes cos my old ones pinched a bit. reebok! wanted the adidas ones but they were a leetle more expensive, albeit on sale. oh well. they're cute too I suppose :/ but now my dad's saying we might have to exchange them because they're too narrow or not made for my kind of running or whatever. not suited to me, in other words.

4 days to my birthday!
Last night went to Shangri-La with my uncle and aunt and parents for dinner at their Italian restaurant, Angelini. They have this awesome jazz singer there, and I was like only distantly aware of her singing the happy-birthday-song, then all of a sudden she came up the steps and I'm like, WTH? Someone Else Has A Birthday? and then this cake comes out of nowhere and my jaw drops to the floor LOL.

So cool! haha much love to all Angelini staff and my uncle and aunt and parents! :D we haven't eaten the cake though. cos we were all stuffed. :/
